Hello, and welcome! We're glad you're here. Poppy Corners is a tiny cottage on 7,000 square feet of land, in the suburbs 20 miles east of San Francisco. We grow organic vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers for our own consumption and pleasure (although we always have plenty to share!). We keep honeybees and chickens. We try to be good stewards of our land and of the creatures, large and small, that live here. We reject the vast, water-guzzling lawns and non-native plants that are typical of the suburbs; instead, we strive to work with our climate, soil, and wildlife, to make our little corner a true native habitat. We are embracing the 'old ways' of preserving food and cooking from our harvest. We find refuge in the garden, and if you're here, you probably do, too. So pull up an adirondack chair, have a glass of iced tea, and join us on our adventure to a more sustainable and natural way of living.
